First donation to The Fred Hollows Foundation
A Powerful First Month for Our “Eye for an Eye” Initiative
We are incredibly proud to share a major milestone for our Eye for an Eye initiative at Vision for Life Institute.
In our very first month, we have donated $33,649.46 to The Fred Hollows Foundation, supporting their life-changing work to restore sight and eliminate avoidable blindness across Australia and around the world.
How this impact was made possible
This achievement reflects the collective effort of our entire community:
Our patients:
Every person who underwent cataract surgery at the Institute in February directly contributed to this donation. Your decision to trust us with your care is helping restore sight to those who might otherwise go needlessly blind.
Our referring optometrists:
We are also deeply grateful to the optometrists who support our patients’ care journeys and who joined us at our Annual VFLI Conference. Your ongoing referrals and partnership play a vital role in making initiatives like this possible.
More than surgery — restoring sight globally!
Through Eye for an Eye, every cataract procedure completed at Vision for Life Institute contributes to restoring vision not only locally, but also globally. It is a simple idea with a powerful impact: when sight is restored here, sight is restored elsewhere.
This is just the beginning. With the continued support of our patients, partners, and referring clinicians, we look forward to expanding the reach of this initiative and increasing the number of lives we can help transform.
Thank you for being part of something truly meaningful. Together, we’re helping ensure that avoidable blindness becomes a thing of the past.
