
Dr McLintock is an Eye Surgeon with sub-specialist training in Cataract Surgery, Refractive Surgery and Corneal transplantation. He is the founder and director of Vision for Life Institute.
After graduating from the UQ school of Medicine in 2006 and completing a Masters of Medicine through University of Sydney in 2009, Dr McLintock completed his Ophthalmology training in Queensland in 2016. He then underwent an 18 month Corneal fellowship at the Queen Victoria Hospital in East Grinstead, UK, a centre with an international reputation for excellence and innovation. He also subsequently completed a Graduate Diploma in Cataract and Refractive Surgery through the University of Ulster.
In 2024, Dr McLintock founded Vision for Life Institute, a centre of excellence committed to world-class, research-based eye care. Through this Institute, Dr McLintock provides world-class treatment to his patients at centres in Upper Mt Gravatt, Loganholme and Hervey Bay.
Dr McLintock has authored numerous peer reviewed journal articles in international Ophthalmology Journals on many topics including cataract surgery, refractive surgery, keratoconus, corneal transplantation and limbal stem cell transplantation. He regularly presents his research at Australian and International Ophthalmology conferences.
Dr McLintock is very active in training Queenslands next generation of Ophthalmologists through his work at the Princess Alexandra Hospital in Brisbane, where he works as a Corneal specialist. He has twice been voted Queensland’s trainer of year.
As part of Vision for Life Institute’s commitment to providing eye health to the under-privileged, Dr McLintock formed a partnership with the Fred Hollows Foundation in 2026. As part of this “Eye for an Eye Initiative,” Vision for Life Institute donates $100 to the Fred Hollows Foundation for every Cataract, Refractive Lens exchange or Laser Eye Surgery procedure performed through the institute.
